Responsibilities:
- Lead technical decisions for WordPress projects within your scope
- Develop and maintain custom themes and plugins
- Analyze and resolve complex or legacy WordPress issues
- Ensure code quality, performance, and security
- Communicate technical risks, trade-offs, and progress clearly
- Mentor and support other developers when needed
What we're looking for:
- Strong experience with WordPress in custom development scenarios
- Solid PHP skills and understanding of WordPress core, hooks, and APIs
- Experience optimizing performance and handling production issues
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and make decisions
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of professional experience with WordPress
- Experience building custom themes & plugins
- Solid understanding of MySQL / WordPress database structure
- Comfortable with Git-based workflows
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript (integration level)
Nice-to-have
- WooCommerce (beyond basic setup)
- Headless WordPress / REST API integrations
- Multisite and/or multilingual setups (WPML, Polylang)
- CI/CD pipelines for WordPress
- Integrations with CRMs, third-party APIs, external auth/payment systems
